Find answers to common questions about our PDF tools and services
General Questions
Yes! MergeAllPDF is completely free to use. All our PDF tools including merge, split, compress, rotate, unlock, and protect are available at no cost. There are no hidden fees, subscriptions, or premium features.
Absolutely! All PDF processing happens directly in your browser using client-side JavaScript. Your files are never uploaded to our servers, ensuring complete privacy and security. Once you close your browser tab, all traces of your files are automatically removed.
You can process PDF files up to 100MB in size. This limit ensures optimal performance and prevents browser crashes. For larger files, we recommend splitting them first or using our compression tool to reduce file size.
Merge PDF Questions
There's no strict limit on the number of files you can merge, but we recommend merging up to 20 files at once for optimal performance. The total combined size should not exceed your browser's memory limitations (typically around 1-2GB).
Yes! You can drag and drop files in the file list to rearrange their order before merging. The files will be merged in the order they appear in the list from top to bottom.
Split PDF Questions
We offer three splitting methods:
- Split All Pages: Extract each page as a separate PDF file
- Page Range: Split by specific page ranges (e.g., 1-5, 10-15)
- Fixed Intervals: Split every N pages into separate files
Use commas to separate different ranges and dashes for page ranges. Examples:
1-5
- Pages 1 through 51-5, 10-15
- Pages 1-5 and pages 10-151, 3, 5
- Individual pages 1, 3, and 51-3, 7, 10-12
- Mixed ranges and individual pages
Compression Questions
- Low Compression: Minimal size reduction with highest quality preservation
- Medium Compression: Balanced approach between file size and quality
- High Compression: Maximum size reduction, may affect quality slightly
Technical Questions
MergeAllPDF works on all modern browsers including:
- Chrome 60+
- Firefox 55+
- Safari 11+
- Edge 79+
- Mobile browsers (iOS Safari, Chrome Mobile)
PDF processing is memory-intensive. Large files or multiple files may temporarily slow down your browser. This is normal and processing will complete. To improve performance:
- Close unnecessary browser tabs
- Process smaller files when possible
- Use a computer with more RAM for very large files
- Consider splitting large files before merging
